Finley's Nursery and Brady's Big Boy Room

Finley's nursery and Brady's room have been an ongoing work in progress for the past few months and I have to say that they are still not completely finished, but at least we are getting somewhere.  I had someone make the boy's letters above their beds because I am just not crafty at all.  I see all of these wonderful ideas on Pinterest but it is hard for me to wrap my mind around doing it myself.

Brady's Mini Vacation

Brady is at the beach this weekend with his Papaw Rick and Grandma Kelly.  He is going to be in my cousins wedding today and I really hope he is going to behave.  This is his first trip without Mom and Dad and the longest he will have ever been away from us.  It is a little bittersweet for me because it is so hard letting him go but at the same time it will give Joe and I a little time just the two of us before the new baby comes. 

He was all ready to go Friday morning and didn't think twice about leaving his Mommy, who I have to admit cried for almost an hour after he left.  I know he is in good hands, but I just hate not seeing him every day.  After his first day he was given a good report and appears to be having lots of fun.  Of course I am getting detailed updates and pictures via facebook, haha!  Here are some sweet pictures of him playing the night before he left.   

38 Weeks Update

I went to the specialist on Monday for an ultrasound on the baby's intestines and they did not see any obstructions, thank goodness!  We will just need to watch him for any feeding or pooping problems after he arrives next week!  We did see some hair and little fat rolls, he was estimated at weighing 8lbs 5oz.  :)  They not only checked on his intestines but their policy is to look at everything else as well and everything looked good.  It was so neat to see him doing his practice breathing too! 

On Thursday I had my regular appointment at my OB's office and unfortunately nothing had changed since my last appointment I am still around 3 cm dilated and 75% effaced.  I have gained a total of 28lbs which I am extremely happy with.  That is 5 lbs less then I gained with Brady.  After my sudden jumps in the middle of my pregnancy I was a little worried.  Finley's heartbeat was good too around 135 bpm.  This was my last appointment and I am scheduled for induction on Wednesday, October the 3rd at 5:30 am.  I can't wait to meet this little boy and see if he looks like his Big Brother, Brady!          

37 Weeks

At my appointment this week I was 3cm dilated and 70% effaced, so I have made a little progress in the right direction.  Baby's heartbeat was in the 140's   I am up 28lbs and via ultrasound the baby is weighing 7lbs 3oz (6oth percentile).  They did notice from my last two ultrasounds that his intestines look dilated so they are sending me to a specialist with better ultrasound equipment to get a closer look.  The doctor says that everything else looks normal, so it is probably nothing, which is what we are hoping for.  The dilated intestines could mean a possible obstructed bowel, which if it turned out to be could require a surgery after he is born.  My next appointment is Monday, so hopefully we will get good news!  I will update more then!   

36 Week Update

Well we are finally at 36 weeks. I am scheduled to be induced on October 3, if Finley doesn't decide to come earlier on his own. I am a lot more uncomfortable this time around then I was with Brady. Since I have had more pains and contractions my doctor decided to do a pelvic exam and we found out that I am 2cm dilated and 50% effaced, so at least my body is getting somewhat prepared. I was a little excited because I never progressed past 1cm with Brady until after they admitted me to the hospital for induction. Of course that doesn't mean a whole lot, I might not progress any further along on my own. I am up 27 lbs now and really really hope not to gain too much more! :( The baby's heart rate was in the 150's this time and I am actually only measuring about a week ahead. I am scheduled for an ultrasound this Friday to check on Finley's growth and to get a better idea of how much he might weigh.

Brady's First Day of 2 Year Old Preschool

Today was Brady's first day of 2 year old Preschool. He did not care much about me trying to take his picture today, but at least we got a couple of shots. He was so excited to go to "school!" He was happy going in until I was about to leave and then came the tears. I don't think this will last as long as it did last year.

Yesterday we went for an hour for his orientation and he did really good, but I stayed the whole time. They have a play kitchen and he really enjoyed it, probably because we don't have one at home, so it was completely new to him. They also had a train puzzle out that he really liked.

The schedule for the 2 year olds is a little more structured then the 1 year old class he was in last year. I think this will be really good for him! He will be going 3 days a week this year. I am excited for him to start bringing home artwork and projects again! :)

Visit to the Mountains

My girlfriends threw me a baby shower a few weeks ago in NC. I had the best time chatting and catching up with them. Brady got to play with his buddy, Aniston, and I finally got to meet my BFF Brandy's new baby, Emerie. I hate that I didn't take hardly any pictures except of the kids playing.

On Saturday morning we met my Papaw Galloway for breakfast at Hardee's! Brady had a good time showing him his John Deer Tractor book! We also had time to visit with the rest of the grandparents. I guess I was too busy chasing this wild boy around to take many photos.

I also had a get together with my Mamaw Shirley, my aunts, and my cousin and her sweet boys, before we headed home. They were so thoughtful and had some gifts for Baby Finley and the boys had a good time playing together!
