After listening to my friend, Brandy, and reading all the comments on Southern Savers and the other blogs that I keep up with, I have decided to start clipping coupons. For the past few weeks I have been buying the Sunday paper and saving the coupons, and yesterday I finally started cutting them out and organizing them into a binder. If you are in to coupons and you have never checked out the Southern Savers website, then you are missing out. They list all the ads for most of the grocery stores and drugs stores in the South, along with information on coupons from the paper, and also coupons that can be printed off the Internet. I figure if all these people are saving so much on their groceries, why not try it out for myself!
These are the goodies I got on my trip to CVS today.
Total before coupons: $33.85 (before tax)
Manufacturer coupons: - 8.00
CVS Extra Bucks Earned: - 15.00
Out of pocket $10.85 (before tax)
That is a savings of 70%! I guess I am hooked, I hope next week I can save just as much!

Today and everyday I am thankful to have a job in this economy. Not just a job, but a job that I actually enjoy, and something that I went to school for! They are extremely flexible and they even allowed me to work from home after Brady was born. Next time before I complain about a slow computer, bad physician handwriting, or having too much work, I will stop and be thankful for a job, when so many people are without one.

It's so easy to get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of life and forget all the many blessings that we have to be thankful for. What I have learned over time is that anything can be taken at any moment, so it is so important to take nothing forgranted! I am going to try to take some time every Thursday to blog about something that I am thankful for. So for the first week I am thankful for my two boys!! These guys are my world. No matter how bad of a day I am having, I can always see either one of my boys and cheer up immediately. Just look at these two, who wouldn't be lucky to have them!!!

Brady and I went to the mountains for the weekend. We had a picnic in Cherokee to celebrate the 4th and my grandmother and great aunt's birthdays. Brady enjoyed playing in the river with his Aunt Jordan and Aunt Sam. He also lit some sparklers with his Uncle Jake. It was nice to spend the day with our family!
