My New Adventure

Well this summer I took on a new adventure of becoming an adjunct instructor. I am teaching a class at our local community college, Midlands Tech. The class is Health Care Management and is a course required for some of the Allied Health Science students, especially those in my discipline of Health Information Management. The class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:35-11 am, and started this past week. Hopefully this new adventure won't be too stressful, because of course I am still working my regular full time job. So far I am really enjoying it! I will keep you all posted.

19 Month Photo Shoot with Mom and Dad

This momma has a serious problem with narrowing down pictures of her boy. It sure doesn't help when the photographer takes so many different poses either. We have been using Portrait Innovations, which I love because there prices seem to be very reasonable and they print out your pictures in their studio. They also have many different props and backgrounds to choose from. The past two times we went were on Saturday mornings and they were super busy with children running around wild in the studio. We decided to go on a Friday evening this time and we had the place to ourselves, which was great! Another thing I like about Portrait Innovations is that if you purchase three different poses you get a CD with all the images on it, which is nice for digital use and blogging! Any way sorry if this post is a little picture heavy, but like I said it was just too hard to narrow them down! :)

18 Month Update

Brady turned 18 months 10 days ago and this momma is so sad! As I watch him everyday, learning new things, I can't help but think how bittersweet it is. I am so glad he is learning new things, but I am not ready for my baby to be a little boy!

At his checkup last week he weighed 25 lbs 15 oz (50th percentile), was 33 1/2 inches long (75th percentile), and had a head circumference of 20 1/8 inches (99th percentile). As you could see he is growing right along as he should be. He is getting so heavy to carry now and when he decides he wants down it's very hard to hold him while he squirms!

In the last few months he has managed to have 3 of his first year molars come in, so he has a grand total of 11 teeth. He is now able to climb up on the furniture and scoot our kitchen chairs around the floor. He is so lovable and will come hug and kiss you most anytime you ask him. He is even being loving to the dog and trying to hug him as well. He is babbling all the time, but not many new words. I am sure that they will start coming out anytime. He loves to point to his ears, chin, tummy, show that he is 1 year old with his fingers, put his arms up, clap his hands, and give high 5's. He will do them on command and is so happy and proud of himself each and every time.

We finally decided to start Brady in a preschool this fall at one of the local churches. It will be a class of 8 children, in the 1 year old range, and 2 teachers. He is really starting to notice and be interested in other children. Our mall has a little play area that we take him to sometimes and he always goes right up to the other kids and smiles and starts waving to them. I hope this carries over to his preschool class and he meets some new friends to play with. He will be going on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. I guess that is about all for now, but I will leave you with a few recent pics of our sweet boy!
