Trip to Savannah and Tybee Island

We spent several days in Savannah last week and had a great time. My parent's were camping at nearby Tybee Island, so we were able to visit with them. We even got to eat at Paula Deen's restaurant, which was very good! Of course our trip wasn't complete until we did a little shopping at the Outlets in Hilton Head on our way back home. We had a good time but like always it goes by too fast.

Harmon's Farm

To feed Brady's growing curiosity we decided to take him to Harmon's Farm. I was looking up local pumpkin patches and found this wonderful place that not only had pumpkins but also a petting zoo. For the fall season they have hayrides out to the pumpkin patch along with a haunted hayride and a haunted house. Even though Brady is a little young to enjoy this place, I am glad we have found a place that we can continue taking him year after year.

8 Months!!!

Another month has passed with our sweet little guy and only a handful of months left until his big 1st birthday. It's hard to believe he has been with us for 8 full months now. I sometimes find it hard to remember what life was like before him. Not a lot of things have changed in the past month. He is still so very close to crawling. He gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth but just when you think he might actually start going forward he falls down on his tummy. He has gotten a lot more playful and verbal. He says Ma-Ma and Da-Da all day now, along with other baby babble. He is very interested in what is going on around him and and he is particularly interested in Hero now. Anytime he is around he tries to pull his hair, we are working on nice soft petting.

Still toothless, I swear any day now we could have one or a couple come in. I know I say this every month! He is still eating lots of baby food. We are now introducing any soft table food that we are eating like mashed potatoes, ice cream, and soft banana. He will eat anything we give him. I am so nervous about feeding him table foods especially since he doesn't have any teeth yet. As far as finger foods go, he is very good about picking them up but he still isn't putting them in his mouth yet.

We don't have an official weight but from our scales he is probably around 19 lbs and 29 inches long. We will have an official update next month after his 9 month checkup. He has outgrown the Swaddlers diapers and is now in Pampers Cruisers size 3. He is out of the infant car seat and is in his new, more roomy, convertible car seat.

Stay tuned for some new exciting pictures in October, including Brady's 9 month photos in his Halloween costume and photos from our trip to Savannah, which will be happening in the next 2 weeks!
