Happy Easter from my Little Peeps

This was the first year that we dyed Easter eggs with Brady. We kept it simple with plain dye and a few stickers. I think his favorite part was seeing the water fizzle and change colors when we dropped the color tabs in. We use something similar when he takes a bath, so he had seen water change colors before. The hardest part was keeping him from touching him while they were drying.

On Friday we dyed the eggs and on Saturday we decided to take them in the backyard and hide them. Brady had found some eggs at school on Thursday, so he was used to the idea. However, when he found each egg he threw it in the basket, cracking each and every one. Oh well, it's not like we planned on keeping them forever. :)

On Easter morning both boys woke up to a surprise left by none other then the Easter Bunny himself. Brady got some new Mickey underpants, some Mickey pajamas, cars and of course candy. Finley got some toys, a new outfit and some pacifier clips. Happy Easter to all our family and friends!!!

Mmmmm Sweet Potatoes

Thanks to my sweet cousin, Brittany, who got us a baby bullet for Christmas! We got it out last weekend and tried it out with sweet potatoes. They were a hit with Finley and so easy to make. This was Finley's first taste of food besides cereal, which he is not a fan of.  Next up is squash.

Finley is 5 Months!

My sweet, spoiled boy turned 5 months old on March 3rd. I swear he gets cuter every day! He is just the happiest and sweetest baby, as long as you are holding him. He is currently trying to put anything he gets his hands on into his mouth. Not sure if it is early teething or not, Brady was almost a year old before he got his 1st tooth. Finley is always smiling and trying to jump around. He loves to be talked to and sung to. He especially loves when his Big Brother talks and plays with him. He also has learned to like bath time finally. He is still not a fan of cereal, but we started giving him some sweet potatoes this week and they were a hit! He will play in his bouncy seat, jumper, swing and on the floor for short periods at a time.

He is wearing size 6 month clothes and is still in size 2 diapers. We don't go back to the doctor till April, so I will update all of his growth stats then. He usually goes to bed in his crib at 8pm, but usually ends up in the bed with us at some point. On a rare occasion he will sleep all night in his crib. At least it's a start! As far as napping goes, they are short and sweet. He is definitely a cat napper, and prefers to sleep in your arms. Hey, they are only babies once, right?!?! We sure do love snuggling this little guy.

No 5 month sticker pics because this sticker was missing from our pack. i will pick back up with those at 6 months. I did catch some really cute pics of him recently to share.

Busy, Busy, Busy

I have been MIA lately, mainly because we are staying very busy! I accepted a promotion at work which I am very excited about, however, I had to give up my working from home in my pajamas. The opportunity was unexpected, but I felt like it was time for a new challenge. It makes me sad to completely leave my boys for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, but it is nice having more adult interaction and taking on more of a management role in the office. We are very fortunate that Joe's parents will be keeping Finley all day and Brady minus his 3 hours he spends in preschool 4 days a week.

I started my new position 2 weeks ago, and so far so good. I am learning a lot and staying pretty busy, which makes my work day go by fast. Brady started a new preschool and now goes 4 half days instead of 3. He has transitioned well, but really enjoys his Papaw dropping him off at school and coming home to their house afterwards. Finley is doing well too. I take my lunch break and pick Brady up from school and then nurse Finley before I go back to work. This works out best for us, because it is just easier to feed him then pump at work. I do pump once in the afternoon at work, because he takes a bottle in the afternoon. So far it is working out, and hopefully we can keep it up. Once he starts eating baby food, he probably will not need to nurse then. I am just lucky that everything is so close, it makes it easy to keep this schedule at least for now. I am so happy that I can leave my boys and not have to worry about who is taking care of them!

Last weekend, Joe's family came up to visit and they got to meet Finley for the first time.  We tried to get a picture of all the Hudson grandkids and this was the best picture I got after multiple attempts.  Brady was just not cooperative, as usual!  It is not very often that we all get together, the last time was
June of 2011.
