Busy, Busy, Busy

I have been MIA lately, mainly because we are staying very busy! I accepted a promotion at work which I am very excited about, however, I had to give up my working from home in my pajamas. The opportunity was unexpected, but I felt like it was time for a new challenge. It makes me sad to completely leave my boys for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, but it is nice having more adult interaction and taking on more of a management role in the office. We are very fortunate that Joe's parents will be keeping Finley all day and Brady minus his 3 hours he spends in preschool 4 days a week.

I started my new position 2 weeks ago, and so far so good. I am learning a lot and staying pretty busy, which makes my work day go by fast. Brady started a new preschool and now goes 4 half days instead of 3. He has transitioned well, but really enjoys his Papaw dropping him off at school and coming home to their house afterwards. Finley is doing well too. I take my lunch break and pick Brady up from school and then nurse Finley before I go back to work. This works out best for us, because it is just easier to feed him then pump at work. I do pump once in the afternoon at work, because he takes a bottle in the afternoon. So far it is working out, and hopefully we can keep it up. Once he starts eating baby food, he probably will not need to nurse then. I am just lucky that everything is so close, it makes it easy to keep this schedule at least for now. I am so happy that I can leave my boys and not have to worry about who is taking care of them!

Last weekend, Joe's family came up to visit and they got to meet Finley for the first time.  We tried to get a picture of all the Hudson grandkids and this was the best picture I got after multiple attempts.  Brady was just not cooperative, as usual!  It is not very often that we all get together, the last time was
June of 2011.

Preschool Valentines Party

Brady had his preschool party for Valentines Day this past Wednesday. It is always so fun to go and see the kids interacting with one another. Finley was a big hit this time, all the kids kept coming over to him in his stroller and talking to him. This day was a little sad for me because this will be his last day there. Due to my job changing, Brady will start a new preschool next week. New changes for all of us coming next week!

The Boys Check Up

We have been so busy around here that I am almost 2 weeks behind!  On February 5th we had Brady's 3 year wellness visit and Finley's 4 month checkup.  Brady is now 37 inches (3 ft 1 inch) and weighs 34.5 lbs.  He is around 50th percentile for height and 75th percentile for weight.  The doctor says he is right on track for everything.  He was lucky enough to not need any shots this time.  Finley wasn't as lucky, he had to have 3 shots plus the oral vaccine.  Poor little guy cried but just for a second and then he was fine!  I already posted Finley's stats on his 4 month update post.  They both had a minor ear infection in their right ears.  Since Brady hadn't mentioned his ear bothering him we didn't think he needed an antibiotic, but since Finley can't tell us how he feels we went ahead and started his 10 days of Amoxicillin.  He has been more cranky then normal, so he must be feeling some of it.  This is both of their first ear infections as far as we know, Brady was such a happy baby and never really got sick until he started 1 year old preschool, so if he ever had an ear infection it was so minor that it didn't bother him.  Brady didn't want to sit still he kept saying that he wanted to play, of course!

Finley's 4 Month Update

Finley you are such a sweet boy especially if are being held. You do not like being put down especially at night. You are so alert when you are awake and your constantly looking around the room. You love to be talked to and you will just smile and coo. You just started laughing out loud and it is the sweetest sound. You love when your big brother is around, you watch him so closely and you're always smiling at him. You are grabbing your toys more and reaching for them if they are close by. You have also been busy trying to keep your fingers in your mouth. You hold your head up very well now and you will sit in your bumbo seat for short periods of time, usually while I am cooking or when we are eating dinner. You tried rice cereal for the first time and was not a big fan. You just kept pushing it out with your tongue. We will keep trying it!

You are not a great napper here lately, you are only sleeping for 20 minutes at a time. Hopefully this will pass! You are still co-sleeping, and you wake pretty frequently to nurse during the night, but I do love cuddling with you. You nurse on demand, usually every 2-3 hours. Brady was on a very good schedule at this age and hopefully we can work on that soon.

You are wearing mostly 6 months and some 3-6 months clothing and you're still in size 2 diapers. At your checkup you weighed 14 lbs 3 oz and was 26 inches long, both around 50th percentile. Your head circumference is in the 10th percentile at 15 3/4 inches.

Brady's Party

We celebrated Brady's 3rd Birthday at our local Chick-fil-a this past Saturday. We invited his preschool pals to come and play and have a snack. We had the party from 10-11:30am, so we could avoid the lunch crowd rush. We ordered a chicken nugget and fruit tray and brought some cupcakes. The kids played, we ate, they played some more and then Brady opened his presents. We had a fun day and Brady got some fun gifts. This was a pretty easy and laid back way to celebrate!

Brady Turns Three

Brady turned 3 years old on Monday, January 28th. It's so hard to believe how fast these past three years have went by, and how much our lives have changed. It seems like in the past 6 months Brady has really changed from a toddler to a big boy. He went from not saying but a few words to putting together complete sentences. He knows all his letters, numbers up to 15, shapes and colors. He can sing his ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and Row Row Row Your Boat. He has memorized and can repeat several parts of his favorite books. He seems so smart, and he rarely forgets anything you tell him. He is so sweet and loving to his brother, always hugging and kissing on him.

Our boy loves to play and would do so all day long. He is really into cars, trains, ships and Mr. Potato head right now. He still loves to read and watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He enjoys going to preschool 3 days a week and playing with his preschool friends. He can say all of their names and point them out in person. He is a very picky eater and prefers yogurt, french fries, applesauce, chocolate milk, crackers and fruit snacks. Hopefully we can get him on some better food this next year.

He wears size 3t and some 4t in shirts and pajamas and a 9 wide in shoes. He is still not potty trained but hopefully we can work on that soon. Brady does not like to go #2 and holds it in as long as he can, which has hindered the potty training process Brady goes to bed at 8pm and sleeps until 7-8am normally and takes a 2 hour afternoon nap.

Happy 3rd Birthday to my first baby boy!
