After listening to my friend, Brandy, and reading all the comments on Southern Savers and the other blogs that I keep up with, I have decided to start clipping coupons. For the past few weeks I have been buying the Sunday paper and saving the coupons, and yesterday I finally started cutting them out and organizing them into a binder. If you are in to coupons and you have never checked out the Southern Savers website, then you are missing out. They list all the ads for most of the grocery stores and drugs stores in the South, along with information on coupons from the paper, and also coupons that can be printed off the Internet. I figure if all these people are saving so much on their groceries, why not try it out for myself!
These are the goodies I got on my trip to CVS today.
Total before coupons: $33.85 (before tax)
Manufacturer coupons: - 8.00
CVS Extra Bucks Earned: - 15.00
Out of pocket $10.85 (before tax)
That is a savings of 70%! I guess I am hooked, I hope next week I can save just as much!
