First Visit with Santa

Thanksgiving

This year we spent Thanksgiving in Georgia with the Galloway's. We headed there on Wednesday evening after work and stayed through the weekend. I was sick last week and unfortunately I gave it to Brady so he was a little sickly on the trip. He seemed to enjoy Thanksgiving day food. I chopped up some turkey and gravy, and gave him mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes. He ate it all right up. That night we drove to Atlanta and spent the night in a hotel so that we could be closer for Black Friday shopping. We went to a bunch of stores and got some of our Christmas shopping done. We even stopped by the Bass Pro Shop and Brady was able to see Santa for the first time. After a long day of shopping we decided we needed a day of rest on Saturday, with a little football and some target practice. I shot my very first rifle, and it was very exciting! We topped off the weekend by attending the Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers game at the Georgia Dome. We had a wonderful but exhausting visit with my parents and look forward to visiting them again soon.

Lots to be Thankful For

I have so many things to be thankful for this year that I decided to make a list of my top 5. We get so wrapped up in our everyday lives that we forget what is important sometimes and take these things for granted.

  • First of all my sweet baby boy, Brady. It is so hard to remember what our lives were like before him. He feels our life with so much joy each and every day. I am thankful for my happy, healthy little boy.
  • A wonderful, caring husband who loves me for me, even when I am crazy, needy, and even mean. He provides for our family and is always here for us. I could not ask for a better person to share my life with.
  • An amazing and supportive family who is always here for us no matter what. Even though we aren't as close in location as we used to be we always know that we can depend on them for anything.
  • A job that allows me to provide for my family and stay at home with my sweet boy.
  • A house that we call home.
The list could go on and on, but I will keep it short. I know it's important to be appreciative for each and everything that we have because nothing in life is guaranteed. I hope all of our family and friends have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

9 Month Professional Photos

Brady's 9 month photos were taken by Tracy Daniels, the same photographer who has taken his newborn, 3 month, and 6 month photos. I am always so surprised at how good they turn out, because Brady doesn't always cooperate. I thnk we will remember this as his serious time. We tried everything in the world to try to make him laugh and smile, and only got a few happy shots. He was very content and interested in everything going on around him. Needless to say I think he is adorable in any mood, but of course I am a little partial.

9 Month Update

Brady just turned 9 months and boy have things started to change. On October 21 Brady hit two big milestones, he started crawling and pulling up. It took him a couple of days to get the hang of crawling, taking a few steps further each time until he had it perfected. Now he is all over the place. He starting pulling up in his crib, but now he does it on his toys and all of our furniture.

He had his 9 month checkup and everything looked great. He only had to get one shot this time and that was the flu shot. His weight is 19lbs 15oz (50th percentile), his height is 28 1/2 inches ( 75th percentile), and his head circumference is 19 inches (98th percentile).

He is finally cutting his first tooth. It's not through the gum yet, but could be any day now. He is still nursing about 6 times a day and eating baby food for 3 meals. He also eat any soft table food that we are eating.
