6 Month Birthday

I can't believe our little miracle is now 6 months old. I look at him and I can still remember the very first time I held him in my arms and was so amazed at how instantly you can fall in love with something so small. I am so happy that he is growing and doing things that are age appropriate but I can't help but wish that he could stay this age forever. I am constantly in awe
of him and just love to watch his little expressions.

At 6 months Brady is now eating more solids. He eats some baby oatmeal usually for either breakfast or lunch and then a stage 1 veggie for dinner in the evening. He has had sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, green beans, and green peas. Since he has had all of the veggies we are now starting on the fruits, with peaches. He seems to enjoy them all. He is still nursing anywhere from 2-4 hours during the day. He also enjoys drinking water from a glass or through a straw. Most of it usually comes right back out his mouth but he enjoys drinking like mommy and daddy.

We are still toothless but I feel any day we could find something white and shiny coming through the gum. He is still slobbering all over the place and occasionally gets upset at night for what we assume is pain in his mouth.

He enjoys playing more all the time. He likes to be read to, play in his jumper and now with his new Leap Frog learning table. He can almost sit up by himself and he is trying hard to crawl when he is laying on his tummy. He can even scoot himself forward sometimes.

At his 6 month check up he weighed 17 lbs 9.5 ounces, was 28.5 inches long with a head circumference of 18.25. His weight is in the 25-50th percentile and his height and head are both in the 95th percentile. The doctor said that he was growing appropriate and everything checked out okay. He had to have an oral vaccine and three shots, but took it like a champ. He cried for about 5 seconds and then was smiling at the nurse afterwards.

I will leave you with a sweet smile from my sunshine and one sweet little boy!!!

Play Time

Brady is really starting to enjoy playing in his jumper. He will stay in there for a while now, especially after he has taken a good nap. He is really learning how to move the toys around and reach for the different ones. He has also started smiling and laughing at the Hero. I am going to try to get some good pictures of them together. Hero shows his affection back by licking Brady's hands and feet.

Since I am working from home permanently now, I decided I needed a babysitter to help me out during the day while I am working. We found a mother and her 16 year old daughter and they take turns coming and staying with Brady. He really seems to like them and enjoys playing with them while mommy is working. I so look forward to getting done with my work so I can play with my sweet boy!
On a side note if any of you bloggers know how to put pictures side by side, I would love to know!!

Traveling Home
We had a great time on our, much needed, vacation to Daytona Beach, Florida in June. What a difference it makes traveling with a baby. We had twice as much luggage and also made many frequent stops on the 6 hour journey. We spent most of our time in the pool and shopping. Brady enjoyed the sand and water. We also enjoyed a couple of visits to the Daytona Beach Kennel Club where we watched the Greyhound races. We look forward to taking Brady on many more beach trips.
