4 Months Old
First bite of Cereal
He doesn't know what to think about it
Playtime
Watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Saturday Morning
I think I like this Mickey Mouse Character
On May 28, 2009 I found out I was pregnant and now our little boy is already 4 months old. Wow, where does the time go? Brady had his 4 month check up yesterday and everything looked good. He now weighs 15 lbs 5 oz, and is 25.75 inches long, with a head circumference of 17.5 inches. (His weight is in the 60th percentile, height 78th percentile, and head circumference is in the 94th percentile). He had to have 2 more shots and a liquid vaccine. He did very well with all of them.
The doctor gave us the okay to try some cereal and veggies anytime now. So we went ahead and got some Gerber Rice Cereal and tried it today. He tried to eat it, but he kept pushing it out of his mouth with his tongue, which is to be expected. Hopefully with some practice he will get better. Once he gets the hang of eating with the spoon we will move on to the orange vegetables like sweet potatoes and squash.
It is just amazing to see all of the changes that a baby goes through in 4 short months. He is such a happy little guy especially in the mornings when he gets up. He seems to enjoy watching tv, I put on the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse this morning and he really seemed to enjoy it. He also loves for you to sing to him, he always looks up at me and smiles. I know he is secretly thinking how bad of a singer his mommy is! haha! He also loves for you to talk to him and he will even babble back. He can roll over now from his tummy to his back and from his back to his tummy. His new favorite toy is his Jumper, he is working on figuring out the little toys that are attached to it. He also is starting to follow you with his head if you move from one location to another.
Brady is officially sleeping in his crib. He is doing better then we had imagined. We put him down around 8:30 and he usually sleeps between 8-9 hours straight. We are so proud of him. When he wakes up I bring him in the bed and nurse him and we have cuddle time. I think he was definitely ready to be in his on bed.

Trying Out the Crib for the First Time
Well we finally decided since Brady will be 4 months old next week that we really need to transition him out of our bed and into his crib. Day one was Friday May 21. Brady's new night time routine consists of bath time at 7:45 followed by reading, nursing, rocking him to sleep and then in his crib by 8:30. The first time things went really well, he went straight to sleep and slept for 2 hours before any crying. Over the night he continued sleeping and waking up every 2-3 hours. At which point we would put his pacifier in his mouth and if that didn't work then I would feed him. He stayed in his crib until 6:15 am. We thought this was a pretty good first night. So today we are going for the second night in the crib, hopefully things will continue as well and he will maybe start sleeping for longer stretches. Wish us luck!!

Brady's New Toy
Since Brady is trying to sit up he no longer enjoys laying down, so we thought we would buy him a jumper. He enjoys standing up and being able to look out. He still can't seem to figure out the toys, but I am sure it is just a matter of time before he will be pressing all the loud noise makers. He goes to the doctor next week for his 4 month checkup. I can't wait to see how he has grown, but I do dread the shots!

Happy Mother's Day
Before I Was A Mom
by Sharon L. Twitchell
"Before I was a Mom, I made and ate hot meals, wore unstained clothes, and had quiet conversations on the phone.
Before I was a Mom, I never worried about how late I went to bed because I could sleep as late as I wanted.
Before I was a Mom, I washed my face and brushed my teeth everyday.
Before I was a Mom, I enjoyed a leisurely cup of coffee while reading the morning newspaper on a Saturday morning.
Before I was a Mom, I slept the whole night through.
Before I was a Mom, my house was clean everyday and I didn't worry about whether or not my plants were poisonous.
Before I was a Mom, I had never been puked on, pooped on, peed on, chewed on or pinched by little fingers.
Before I was a Mom, I had complete control over my mind, thoughts and body.
Before I was a Mom, I never held down a screaming child while doctors and nurses did tests or gave shots. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces because I couldn't stop the hurt.
Before I was a Mom, I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
Before I was a Mom, I never got gloriously happy over a toothless grin.
Before I was a Mom, I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down. I never was up in the wee hours of the night just watching a baby while it slept. I never knew something so small would effect my life so tremendously.
Before I was a Mom, I never knew I could love someone so unconditionally and completely.
Before I was a Mom, I never knew how satisfying it is to feed a hungry child. I never knew how fulfilling it is to soothe a baby's cry.
Before I was a Mom, I loved my mom but didn't understand her.
Before I was a Mom, I never knew the warmth, the joy, the heartache, the wonderment, or the fulfillment of being a mom.
Before I was a Mom, I never knew I would LOVE being a mom."

3 Months Already!!!
It is really hard to believe that our little boy is already 3 months old. It seems like he changes everytime I look at him. We had his 3 month pictures made, by Tracy Daniels, and they were so adorable. Here is a sneak peak of them. I seriously think he must be the cutest baby ever, not that I'm partial or anything, hahaha!!
His neck is getting alot stronger and he is holding his head up very well. He enjoys sitting in his Bumbo chair now, especially while we are eating dinner at the kitchen table. He also enjoys watching his mommy and daddy play bowling on the Wii. I am sure he will be playing as soon as he is able to, and will be just as competitive as his parents.
He is just adorable when he tries to talk, or should I say babble. It's like he has so many stories to tell us, he is just reaching for the words. He will just smile and coo when you talk back to him. He is such a happy boy all the time and we couldn't be more blessed.
