3 Weeks
We can't believe how fast our son is growing. Where is the time going? This week daddy went back to work, so it was just mommy and Brady. We managed but we sure missed daddy. This weekend Brady got a visit from his Nana and Poppy, Aunt Jordan and Uncle Jake.

Brady's First Snow
Well we officially got some snow in Columbia, after all the snow that our family has gotten in Western North Carolina and even in North Georgia. I would say we probably got about 5 inches. This just happens to be the 8th heaviest snow that Columbia has ever had. Which of course we find pretty amusing. Luckily it snowed on a Friday evening, but everything imaginable is closed on Saturday. Too bad Brady is too little to enjoy it.
2 Weeks Old
We finally decided it was time to get out of the house, so on Wednesday we went out for a little shopping. Brady was such a good boy and slept the entire 3 hours that we were out. Mommy was especially glad to get out of the house, even if it was just a short trip. We have also got Brady's 2 week newborn pictures for Sunday, so we are pretty excited about that. We've taken a couple of walks in the neighborhood, once in our stroller and another time in his infant carrier. Hopefully this will be the start of many strolls around the pond in the neighborhood.
Brady had his 2 week checkup with Dr. Bates on Thursday and she said that he was looking good. He still looks a little yellow from the jaundice, but that should be gone in the next few weeks. He is back up to 9 lbs which is what he was when we left the hospital. He had gained 8 oz in 6 days so the doctor was pretty pleased. He also has gained a 1/4 of an inch so now he is 21 1/4 inch long.
He is starting to wake up more during the day and appears more alert. He loves lounging on his boppy, swinging, and sitting in his bouncer. He is still sleeping in the bed with mommy and daddy, so we will need to work on that in the next couple of weeks and try to get him in his bassinet or crib. He sleeps pretty much through the night, waking usually once to eat. We have also started to give him a pacifier, which he is trying to keep in his mouth. Most of all we just enjoy watching his sweet expressions, whether he is frowning, looking deep in thought, or smiling.

Our Little Glo-Worm
We have been officially released from using the bili-light, aka Brady's tanning bed. This is good news since his bilirubin numbers are decreasing, however, this might end his sleeping all night. Once we figured out we could put this contraption in the bed with us, Brady would sleep all night except when we woke him up to nurse. I have a feeling tonight we will not have the same result since he will finally have to sleep in his bassinet.
Meeting The Galloway's
Grandpa Rick had a business trip scheduled when Brady decided to arrive a little early, so he and Grandma Kelly finally got to meet Brady on his 1 week Birthday. Brady has jaundice and had to sleep on a Bili-Light for his first several days home. He was cute and looked like a little glo-worm. Luckily by Friday his bilirubin numbers had dropped enough that he could be off the light, and grandma and grandpa could hold him anytime. He also got to visit with his Great Grandpa Galloway and cousin Morgan. We must say that Brady is quite popular and he definately enjoys all the attention.
