Brady Nicholas Hudson
Brady made his grand arrival on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 6:33 pm. He weighed 9 lbs 5 oz and was 21 inches long. We are so excited to have our little buddy with us now and it's already hard to believe what life was like without him.
Our adventure began on Wednesday, January 27 when I was admitted to get a jump start on labor with the drug called Cervidil. This basically is something that is inserted into your cervix ot help it prepare for labor, since my body wasn't staring the labor on it's own. After a pretty sleepless night, the drug Pitocin was started the next morning at 7:00 am to start my contractions.
Right away I began noticing the contractions even though they didn't really start getting painful until about 11:00 am. My doctor came in at around 10:00 am and there was no change in my cervix so the waiting game would continue. Around 11:00 am I decided that I was having quite a bit of pain and needed some medical intervention, so I was given some IV drugs to help with the pain. This worked for maybe 15 minutes, except for the fact that one of the drugs made me completely groggy the rest of the afternoon. Finally, at 12:30 pm it was time for an epidural. This I might say was one of the scariest thoughts for me, but at this point the contractions were so painful that I really didn't even feel anything when they started it. It only took a few minutes, and I was already feeling relief and quickly became numb from the waist down. This I would have to say was the end of my labor pain.
The doctor came in after the epidural and said that I had dilated to 5 cm, and it would probably be 5 hours before it was time to push. About an hour and a half later the doctor came back to check me and I was dilated to 9 cm. Finally around 5:45 pm it was time to start pushing. At this point I was still unable to feel anything and ended up pushing only 45 minutes before our beautiful son arrived.
Even though most of the day was a blur, I will never forget the moment that Brady was born. I already knew at that moment, that this would be one of the best memories of my life.

Induction
Well the time has finally come to meet Baby Hudson. I will be admitted to the hospital tonight and induced in the morning. We hopefully will have a baby sometime on January 28th. We will try to post updates as soon as possible, because I am sure everyone is just as anxious as we are. We can't wait to share our journey of being new parents with all of our friends and family.

Brady at 37 Weeks
This should be the last ultrasound pictures of our sweet little boy. It was so funny seeing him change his expressions through the ultrasound from smiling to sticking his tongue out to frowning. He definately seems very animated and I can't wait to see more of his expressions. Hopefully we will have real pictures to post of him soon. I had my 37 week appointment on Monday and Brady appears to be in the 83rd percentile, which means we should have a big healthy baby in the near future. If he hasn't arrived by next week I will be induced on Thursday, January 28.
